Wild mushrooms paprikash with dumplings

(Schwammmetgrote Nokedl)

Use various kinds of mushrooms – porcini, edible honey mushroom, suillus etc. -, that make it even more delicious!


– wild mushrooms, sliced
– 1 onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, crushed
– 2 tbsp oil
– salt and pepper to taste
– paprika
– 1 green pepper, chopped

– 1 tomato, chopped
– 1 cup flour
– 1egg
– half dl sparkling water
– parsley



Heat the oil in a pan, add the onion, garlic and fry until softened. Stir in the mushrooms and simmer for 20 minutes. Season well with salt, pepper and paprika, tip in the green pepper and tomato and leave to cook for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, put the flour in a bowl, add the egg, water and parsley and mix well into a medium soft dough. Check the water on the mushroom, add some if needed and drop dumplings by spoonful into the boiling mushroom dish. Cook dumplings for 4-5 minutes. Serve with a spoonful of sour cream on top.
